Problems when sending mails to penpen mail server
This section describes common error messages that are returned by our mail server and how to resolve them.
550 5.7.1 Service unavailable; client [<ip>] blocked using <fqdn>
<ip> is the IP address of the sending mail server and <fqdn> is the fqdn of a DNS blacklist provider.
This message implies that the IP address of the mail server that is used to send the mail and is also given in the message
is listed on a so-called DNS blacklist.
On these blacklist IP addresses of spam senders are listed. Also, IP addresses that are normally assigned dynamically to internet
connections of normal customers are listened in these lists as normal users should send mails via the mail servers of their email provider.
You can check if you IP listened in one of the common dns blacklists for example at https://www.dnsbl.info/ .
There can also be found further information how to remove
the IP of your mail server from a blacklist. You should check also the logs of your mail server in order to ensure that
the server is not used to send spam.
554 5.7.1 : Recipient address rejected: Rejected by SPF: <ip> is not a designated mail server for <e-mail adress>
The e-mail address you are using to send an mail and which is listenes in the message (<e-mail adress>)uses a domain
for which the allowed sending mail servers are defined in an so called SPF entry (txt-record) in the DNS.

554 5.7.1 Rejected for policy reasons (<random-number>)
There are various reasons for this message. Examples are:
The receivers e-mail address does not exist. Please check if the e-mail address is correct
The senders e-mail address does belong to a domain the penpen mail server is responsible for. As mails from these domains should come only from the mail server itself, mails from e-mail addresses of these domains are refused.
Evaluation of internal policies lead to the result that the e-mail should be refused.
Try to send the mail without attachment again. Please also ethat sender and receiver e-mail addresses are correct
554 5.7.1 : Relay access denied
This message indicates that you try to send an e-mail to the mail server that should be send to an e-mail adress the mail server is not responsible for.
As the mail server does only accept mails for domains the mail server is responsible for and does not forward the message to the correct server (relaying),
the mail server will refuse the mail with this error message. Please contact the administrator of you e-nail provider or if you are the administrator, configure your mail server correctly to not using the penpen mail server as smarthost.
